Interior Series

 “Interior” (2021-ongoing)

This series of photographs is part of an ongoing project exploring the delicate balance between observation and participation. I photograph subjects I know personally, allowing the images to feel equally at home in a gallery or a living room. Interior walks the line between stylised tableaux and spontaneous moments, creating a tension that is both intricate and effortless.

There is a vulnerability in photographing those familiar to me, as these images aim to reveal the inner lives of my subjects, offering an intimate exploration of individuality and connection. I explore notions of home and family by shooting subjects at home or siblings together.

Rooted in my own experiences of growing up in 2000s New England, Interior explores privilege, wealth, and superficial beauty with both irony and self-awareness. This introspection as an artist lends depth to my work, placing them beyond surface aesthetics to capture the emotions, thoughts, and worlds of my subjects.
